Directions to the main office:
From North or South of
Springfield, MA: Take Interstate 91 to the Massachusetts Turnpike (Route 90)
go eastbound for one Exit (number 5) and then follow the next block of directions.
From East or West
of
Springfield, MA: Massachusetts Turnpike (Route 90) East
or West (as appropriate), to Exit Number 5, Chicopee, MA.
Immediately after paying your toll (approximately 30
feet from the Toll Booth), there is a left turn (most of the traffic will be
bearing right however), you should turn left.
A few hundred yards later you will reach the end of the
access road where there is a Stop Sign. Turn Right here.
You will immediately come to a stop light
(approximately 50 yards from the Mass Pike access road), This intersection will have a
small Gas Station and Convenience Store on your immediate left, a larger Gas Station,
Convenience Store and Car Wash on your immediate right, a 7-11 Convenience store on the far right corner, as well as a new CVS
Drugstore on the opposite left corner. You will make a very sharp left turn
here onto Granby Road. (stay as far to the left as possible at this
turn/intersection)
Follow Granby Road for a total of about two miles.
You will have traveled through one stop light (which takes you underneath the Mass
Pike) and still following the road, you will wind around to the left, and again around to
the right and down the hill. After having traveled that approximate two miles you
will reach that second traffic light since turning onto Granby Road. This second
traffic light will allow you to go either straight or left (over a small bridge) into
Chicopee Center. Take that left, over the little bridge and yield on the other side
for traffic coming from your left hand side.
The Square
you are about to enter is called "Market Square". You will initially have to turn
right off the bridge because it is "one-way". Immediately after exiting
the bridge and taking that right hand turn, get into the left lane, because you will have
to take the next three immediate left turns around "Market Square".
After taking the third left the Constables
Office will be on your left hand side.
We are a storefront, at street level with a three foot
high Gold Leaf Badge, painted on the window (photo above). You cannot miss it. Should you
become lost at any time, get directions to Chicopee City Hall in Chicopee Center.
Beside City Hall is the main branch of the Chicopee Public Library.
The Constables' Office is
directly across the street from the library. Our street address is below.
Call us if you have difficulty. Additionally, Academy
Students occasionally visit our city previous to the day of their
scheduled training classes (or early in the morning the day of their first
class). Should you decide to do this, please let us know in advance
that you are going to be in the area. We will be glad to take some
extra time (at no additional charge to you) to show you around and get you
started in your training early if you desire.
